How to Share Dashboard with Link in ArcGIS Online
Sharing dashboards in ArcGIS Online is a straightforward process that allows you to easily distribute your maps and analyses to a wide audience. By following these steps, you can share your dashboards with a link, making it accessible to anyone with internet access.
Step 1: Log in to ArcGIS Online
Before you can share your dashboard, you need to log in to your ArcGIS Online account. Go to www.arcgis.com and enter your username and password to access your account.
Step 2: Navigate to Your Dashboard
Once logged in, navigate to the “Content” tab on the top menu. Here, you will find a list of all the items you have created or uploaded to your ArcGIS Online account. Scroll through the list and click on the dashboard you want to share.
Step 3: Click on the Share Button
After selecting your dashboard, click on the “Share” button located on the top right corner of the page. This will open a dialog box with various sharing options.
Step 4: Set Sharing Permissions
In the sharing dialog box, you will see a list of users and groups with whom you can share your dashboard. You can choose to share it with everyone, specific users, or groups. Additionally, you can set the level of access, such as view-only or edit permissions.
Here is a table showing the different sharing permissions available in ArcGIS Online:
Permission Level | Description |
---|---|
View Only | Users can view the dashboard but cannot make any changes. |
Edit | Users can view and edit the dashboard, including adding or removing layers, changing symbology, and modifying the layout. |
Owner | Users have full control over the dashboard, including the ability to delete or share it with others. |
Step 5: Generate a Shareable Link
After setting the sharing permissions, click on the “Generate Link” button. This will create a unique URL that you can share with others. You can copy the link and paste it into an email, social media post, or any other communication channel.
Step 6: Customize the Link
By default, the link will be view-only, meaning that users will not be able to edit the dashboard. However, you can customize the link to allow editing by following these steps:
- Click on the “Customize Link” button next to the “Generate Link” button.
- Select the desired sharing permissions (view-only or edit) from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the “Generate Link” button again to create a new link with the updated permissions.
Step 7: Share the Link
Now that you have a shareable link, you can distribute it to your audience. Simply paste the link into an email, social media post, or any other communication channel. Recipients can click on the link to access and view your dashboard.
By following these steps, you can easily share your dashboards in ArcGIS Online with a link. This allows you to reach a wider audience and collaborate with others on your maps and analyses.
